Hinged hiller-cultivator AK-2,8 is aggregated with tractors of a class 1,4 MTZ 80/82 and MTZ 100/102, consists of a frame, a suspension bracket, basic wheels, sections for installation of working parts, adjusting devices and complete set of spare parts, tools and accessories.

Hiller-cultivator is intended for pre-emergence and postemergence interrow processing of potatoes for purpose of soil and destruction loosening weed vegetation. Also it is applied at landing by four-row potato planters with row-spacings 70 sm.

Hiller-cultivator is intended for work on all kinds of soils with humidity to 27 %, littered with stones in diameter to 100 mm - in number of 6 tons/ha.

Hiller-cultivator depending on established working parts can carry out following technological operations:

• cutting of crests by hilling cases with basic and additional paws;
• cutting of crests with loosening of their surfaces by break rotors, lateral and ridge rippers;
• continuous loosening before occurrence of shoots of potato and occurrence of shoots in early stage of development for the purpose of destruction of weeds and loosening top layer of earth by hilling cases, lateral and ridge rippers;
• hilling of landings with loosening of slopes of crests by hilling cases and lateral rippers;
• hilling of landings of potato by hilling cases.
